California 2010

Holy cow! So I know I haven't done ANYTHING with this blog for more than a year....I had actually given up on it completely, but then Dyan told me that you can print out your blog and it becomes sort of like a journal. So this is now my inentions. Basically, this blog is more for me and my family than anyone else. We'll see how well I do. I know I've missed a lot, but I am going to jump way ahead and start with our California trip we took last month.

So we went to San Diego California the last week of June..and it pretty much sucked. The weather was freezing, it was cloudy and we were not prepared for cold weather at all. So the kids didn't have jackets or long pants....except for Durham. He did bring one pair of long pants thanks to me. Dale told the kids to leave the jackets at home and that they wouldn't need them...haha! It was high 50's and windy, YES! We all needed jackets. We should've left the swimsuits at home.

The kids still played in the ocean, Lucille fell in the water and freaked out. I couldn't blame her since the water was so cold. The boys and dad went on a boat ride which they loved. It went on land and sea. It would take them in the water and they would go out in the ocean and look at the sea lions (?), then it would take them up on land as well and drive around. I guess Durham sat next to this really cute 12 year old blonde. Dale said he tried to act cool the whole time :) Gregor said "Hey Durham! Is that your giiiiirl-friend?" I wish I could have been there to see it. Lucille and I hung back at the hotel and napped. I'm pregnant with twins, yes you heard me right. So I basically sleep all the time (at least that's what it feels like) and cherish every nap that I get to take.

I must say that we did love the hotel. It was right on the bay. We could literally walk out our back patio door and out to the bay of the ocean. The kids played frisbee and made sandcastles. Overall, I'm glad we went, I just wish the weather had cooperated. Next year we will go in July for sure!
